Welcome to the official website of the SoCal Hit Dogs travel baseball organization located in Los Angeles, California (Santa Clarita), an affiliate of the Motor City Hit Dogs and Ohio Hit Dogs. Coaches
Coach Fowler
Coach Fowler has successfully coached youth, middle school, high school, and collegiate athletics (baseball, football, basketball, & soccer) dating back to 1996. He has a Sports Performance and Coaching Minor from The Ohio State University, is a former Internationally Certified Personal Trainer (Sport Specific Training), a former middle school Athletic Director, and has coached travel baseball in the states of California (SoCal Hit Dogs), Ohio (Ohio Elite), Mississippi (Oxford Legends), and Connecticut (Madison Tigers). A three-sport star (football, basketball, & baseball) in high school, Coach Fowler played high school baseball at Lakewood High School (Hebron, OH) for one of the most successful high school baseball programs in the nation, and notably, played for one of the winningest high school baseball coaches in the nation (Coach Don Thorp - earning his 1,000th win in April of 2021) where he was named 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-League, 1st Team All-Advocate, was an All-Star Selectee, and played on a State of Ohio District Championship Team. Opting to play football in college, much later, he would play one season for the Hamilton Black Sox baseball team in the MABL. Fun Fact:
As noted, Coach Fowler coached for Ohio Elite in the state of Ohio. Since 2010, Ohio Elite has had 35 players drafted to the MLB with many making it to The Show (including the Los Angeles Dodgers very own, Will Smith), and many more receiving college scholarships.

Coach Pratt is a former high school baseball head coach and played collegiate baseball (Pitcher) for The Dirtbags (California State University, Long Beach).

Note. 12U Team will go to Cooperstown All Star Village in the Summer of 2025 (Week 8, July 12th-18th). Our 14U Team will go to the USSSA World Series in San Diego, CA.
Parents Corner - Planning for the Upcoming Season
For the upcoming 2024-2025 travel baseball season, we will have one 12U AAA-Majors team. Please note our 12U team will go to Cooperstown in the Summer of 2025, go to the SlumpBuster in the Summer of 2026, and go to the USSSA World Series in the Summer of 2027. For the 12U team, the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer tentative schedules will be as follows:
Fall 2024: USSSA 12U Open League Play (doubleheader every Sunday), mixed in Tournament Play, practice twice a week (one hitting and one fielding).
Winter 2024-2025: USSSA 12U Open League Play (doubleheader every Sunday), mixed in Tournament Play, practice twice a week (one hitting and one fielding).
Spring 2025: USSSA 12U Open League Play (doubleheader every Sunday), mixed in Tournament Play, practice twice a week (one hitting and one fielding).
Summer 2025: USSSA 12U Open League Play (doubleheader every Sunday), mixed in Tournament Play, practice twice a week (one hitting and one fielding). Note. 12U team will go to Cooperstown.
Other Relevant Information:
Practices will be held in the Santa Clarita Valley, California area (typically in Valencia, CA).
Indoor Practices typically will be held at The Farm.
Outdoor Practices typically will be held at one of the City of Santa Clarita baseball fields.
USSSA 12U Open League Play will typically be at the William S. Hart Baseball fields in Santa Clarita…but will be at other fields/cities here and there.
Tournament play will be in the states of California, Arizona, and Nevada.
Typically, tournaments in California will be played in the Southern California region.
Typically, one tournament per year in Phoenix, Arizona and one tournament per year in Las Vegas, Nevada.
12U Teams will travel to Cooperstown in the Summer months (typically, June or July).
